The purpose of this study was to find out how to analyze misspellings in students' writing and what supporting and inhibiting factors caused students to misspelled in writing in Indonesian. In this study, 26 samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique. Regarding data analysis techniques used through interviews, observation, and documentation. Using the results of this study, the authors found spelling errors made by several students including errors in the use of capital letters used at the beginning of sentences by 12 students, errors in the use of capital letters that were not used in the middle of sentences by 20 students, errors in the use of capital letters such as initials almost all fifth grade students use capital letters incorrectly according to spelling rules. and students made mistakes in the use of punctuation marks, including periods and commas. The researcher found several errors in the use of the punctuation marks. This is because students do not understand adequate writing rules.
