About the Journal

JPES: Journal of Islamic Banking and Economics is an academic journal published by a higher education institution as a medium for the publication and dissemination of research findings, conceptual studies, and critical scholarly works in the fields of Islamic banking, Islamic economics, and Islamic finance. The journal aims to support the development of knowledge and economic practices based on Sharia principles.

JPES publishes scholarly articles contributed by lecturers, researchers, practitioners, and students from both within and outside the institution. The published articles include empirical research results, literature reviews, theoretical studies, and policy analyses that are relevant to the development of Islamic banking and Islamic economics. All submitted manuscripts undergo a peer-review process to ensure quality, originality, and academic contribution.

Focus and Scope

The focus of JPES covers the fields of Islamic banking and Islamic economics, with the scope including but not limited to the following areas:

  • Islamic banking and its management

  • Islamic non-bank financial institutions

  • Islamic economics and Islamic finance

  • Sharia-based management and business

  • Islamic accounting and auditing

  • Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Waqf (ZISWAF)

  • Contemporary issues in Islamic economics and finance, including Islamic fintech and financial inclusion
